Gustafson Excavating has been a trusted name in the excavating industry since 1991. Over the years, we have served both commercial contractors and residential clients with a wide range of services including septic installations, grading, and material supply. With over 1000 successful commercial projects and more than 40 septic system installations each season, we take pride in our work and the relationships we've built with our clients.
Gustafson Excavating was founded by Denny and Kevin Gustafson with a shared vision, strong work ethic, and a commitment to doing things the right way. With Kevin’s early experience in pipe and excavation and Denny’s background in trucking and heavy equipment operation, the company began with a small fleet and a big reputation for dependable work.

What began with a tractor backhoe, skid steer, small dozer, and a single axle dump truck steadily expanded through dedication and reputation. Today, Kevin operates the business alongside his son and two daughters, continuing the multigenerational commitment to quality and accountability.
As a family-run company serving North Branch, the Twin Cities, and the North Metro, Gustafson Excavating believes in taking care of employees and treating customers with respect. That approach has helped the company grow to more than 60 employees while maintaining the values it was built on.
